Who is the workshop for
This workshop is aimed for Directors of studies for PhD education, research group leaders and PhD supervisors at Stockholm University.
About the workshop
Research environments, or cultures, are thought to be the most influential predictors of research productivity. Although several narrative and systematic reviews have begun to identify the characteristics of research‐favourable environments, these reviews have ignored the contextual complexities and multiplicity of environmental characteristics.
Based on recent research on how contextual factors interact with research productivity together with research on learning environments in an online environment, we will in this workshop discuss strategies and tools for creating a fruitful research environment for PhD students.
Each participant will be asked to respond to a short survey before the workshop. The outcomes of the survey will be used as a basis for the workshop. During the workshop participants will be divided into groups and analyse and prepare materials to be used by the full group.
