About the workshop
Case-based teaching engages students in discussion of specific scenarios that resemble or typically are real-world examples. The method is applicable in a wide range of settings and disciplines, from business to bioethics. It is a learner-centered method with intense interaction between participants as they build their knowledge and work together as a group to examine case material and engage in problem-identification, negotiation and problem-solving.
During the workshop we will
- Discuss the case method
- Discuss literature on case method in different disciplines
- Learn experiences from a multi-disciplinary case in bioethics
- Identify opportunities for case teaching in your own teaching
- Design case material for your own settings
