This workshop is aimed for new seminar leaders, doctoral students but also for those with many teaching hours looking for new impulses, ex insights into communication with students about learning processes and teaching.
Twelve steps to develop excellence in academic learning
During the workshop you get the opportunity to try a palette of pedagogical principles in practice and also ideas on how to succeed as a seminar teacher - anchored in the latest research on the teacher's significance for learning, including in digital contexts.
With this workshop, we want to stimulate reflection on three overarching pedagogical principles:
- Take position: Lead, show emotions professionally, formulate requirements, security and trust
- Communicate relationships: body language, skills needed, rethoric and influence
- Stimulate learning processes: Expert, simple and complex thinking, situation costumization, listening
These three principles, which involve different and complementary ways of relating to one's own teaching practice, are described and made visible during the workshop.
