Financial Statistics, 7,5 credits

The course provides extended and in-depth knowledge of probability theory and statistical concepts and methods used in economic theory, especially those used in financial statistics.

This course teaches concepts such as Probability theory, probability distributions, inference with decision theory, regression models, index theory, models for time series and forecasting, volatility, options and management of data. Throughout the course you will learn and use statistical software packages.
The course forms part of the degree programme in business economics and is only open for program students.

Prerequisites and special admittance requirements: Basic Statistics for Economists, 15 ECTS credits and Mathematical Methods for Economists, 7,5 ECTScredits, or equivalent.
