Students applying for the SBS exchange programme must be enrolled at SBS at the time of application* and  have enough credits left in the study programme to transfer 30 credits from the exchange semester.

*Students enrolled in free standing courses or Bachelor of Business Administration programme who are enrolled in courses at the department of economics are eligible, provided they meet the below-listed requirements.

NOTE! Students that have previously applied and been accepted to SBS exchange programme and then declined the placement after the host university has contacted the student are not allowed to apply again.

Bachelor's level


Bachelor’s Programme in Business Administration:

  • At the time of the application you must have successfully completed at least seven (7) out of eight (8) courses in Business Administration I (FEK I)  and Business Administration II (FEK II), i.e. you must have taken at least 52.5 credits in business.
  • You must have enough credits within your programme to study abroad, i.e. you can only have studied max 150 credits within your programme before the start of the exchange semester.
  • The semester of study abroad within the program is the 5th semester in the Bachelor's programme in Business Administration. Students who choose to select courses at SBS and / or courses with a guaranteed place at other departments have used the 5th semester and will therefore not be able to apply to SBS exchange programme.

NOTE! If your specialization within the programme is Accounting, and you want to fulfill the theory for authorized auditor you need to have courses with Consolidated Financial Reporting, Auditing and International Accounting Standards.

Bachelor's Programme in Marketing Communications

  • At the time of the application you must have successfully completed seven (7) out of eight (8) courses from semester one (1) and three (3) in your programme to be eligible to apply for the exchange programme.
  • You must have enough credits within your programme to study abroad, i.e. you can only have studied max 120 credits within your programme before the start of the exchange semester.
  • This programme has a fixed structure, stuents are bound to studying according to the curriculum.

Students enrolled in the bachelor programme in Marketing Communications (kandidatprogrammet i marknadskommunikation) have the opportunity to go abroad on exchange during semester five (5) of the programme.

Bachelor´s Programme in International Business and Politics

  • At the time of application you must have passed seven (7) out of eight (8) courses in Business Administration from semester one (1)  and two (2), and you should also have completed semester three (3) and four (4) of the programme by the start of your exchange period. Typically, you would be enrolled in semester four (4) at the time of application for exchange studies.
  • You must have enough credits within your programme to study abroad, i.e. you cannot have earned more than 150 credits within your programme before the start of the exchange semester.
  • Semester for studies abroad is the fifth (5th) semester of the Bachelor's programme in International Business and Politics.

Master's level

  • At the time of application master students must have successfully passed three (3) out of four (4) courses from the first semester in the master programme.

Students enrolled in the following programmes: Management Studies, Marketing, Accounting, have the opportunity to apply for exchange studies during their third semester of the programme.

Students enrolled in MSc. in Banking and Finance can apply for our Double Degree in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana. The other option for international experience is to attend a summer programme arranged by partner universities (NOTE! credits earned during the summer prorgammes cannot be transferred to the programme). As of the 2018/2019 academic year, it will not possible for students enrolled in MSc. in Banking and Finance to apply for the exchange programme.

Students enrolled in the programme Strategic IT Management should apply through the Department of Computer and System Sciences exchange programme.

If you are not eligible for an exchange semester, you will take elective courses at SBS during the third semester.

Free standing courses

Students taking free-standing courses through SBS can apply for study abroad on their own as free movers, via Stockholm University's central agreements or through the departments' agreement, subject to availability. Please note that we prioritize our programme students before students taking free-standing courses. You must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • At the time of application you must have passed seven (7) out of eight (8) courses in Business Administration or Market Communication (PR & Reklam) from semester 1 and 2.  
  • You must have been enrolled at SBS at least two (2) semesters prior to the semester you wish to go on exchange.


Students in the Bachelor's programme in Business Administration and IT the Bachelor´s programme in Marketing Communication and IT can apply for exchange studies via the department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) and Stockholm Business School (SBS). However note that in SBS selection process students from these programmes will in priority group 2.

 

It is the student's own reposonsibility to make sure you can obtain a student visa for the country you are applying to study in.
