This workshop is aimed for teachers at Stockholm University and teachers at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. The participants from both Universities will be able to communicate and collaborate during the workshop through the use of digital media.

About the workshop

How can you as a teacher prepare and choose questions for asynchronous discussion that generate meaningful discussion of high quality for the students? How can you involve all students in a discussion forum. These and other questions regarding asynchronous online teaching will be discussed during the workshop that consists of four parts: Introduction and theoretical background, practical use, Introduction and use of Kialo, an online public discussion platform, and summing up.

Taking a highly hands-on approach, this workshop will arm participants with different teaching activities and teaching resources that they can make use of for their own lessons, in Athena and other systems.
