Stockholm, sometimes called the capital of Scandinavia, is built on 14 islands connected by over 50 bridges. The proximity to the water is a distinctive trait of Stockholm, which was founded in 1252 and is the country’s financial and business center. The old part of the city, Gamla Stan, with its narrow cobblestone streets, is one of the most unique and well preserved medieval city centers in Europe. Some of the most notable attractions in this district are the Royal Palace and the daily changing of the guards, Stockholm Cathedral, and other beautiful churches and museums.

Accommodation

We have reserved rooms for all presenters and discussants at The Best Western Time Hotel, which is on walking distance from the conference venue. Directions from the hotel to campus can be found here.

Other hotels nearby the conference venue:

  • Hotel Hansson: Boutique hotel at a 15-minute walk from campus, with many bars and restaurants around the corner
  • 2 Kronor Hostel: A cheaper alternative next door to Hotel Hansson
  • Stallmästaregården: Old hotel overlooking Lake Brunnsviken at a 10-minute walk to campus

Arrival

We recommend that you fly to either Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) or Stockholm Bromma (BMA). A taxi from Arlanda to the conference venue takes around 40 minutes and costs around SEK 500. From Bromma it is slightly shorter and slightly cheaper. The conference venue address is Kräftriket, House 3 (Stockholm Business School).

If you prefer to go by public transport, take an airport coach or train (the fastest is Arlanda Express) to the Stockholm railway station. Outside the railway station, take bus 50 (direction Universitetet) and get off at bus stop Albano. Bus tickets must be pre-purchased at a convenience store, such as Pressbyrån at the railway station.

If arriving at Arlanda, another alternative is to take the airport coach (Flygbussarna) to bus stop Haga Södra, which is around 15 minutes walk from SBS; or to Norra Stationsgatan, which is a 10-minute walk from The Best Western Time Hotel.
